The Land Transportation Office-Northern Mindanao (LTO-10) has started distributing motorcycle license plates that were supposed to be issued from 2014 to 2021.
More than 220,000 motorcycle plates have arrived at the LTO-10 plate distribution facility, addressing the delay in the plate issuance across the region.
LTO-10 Spokesperson, Ferdinand Flores, said motorcycle owners can now claim their plates free of charge by simply presenting proof of ownership.
“Magdala lang sila ug OR CR ug ID nga proof nga ila na motorsiklo unya silay mo-claim sa plaka proof of ownership mo anha lang sila sa buhatan sa LTO kada adlaw dinhi sa Bulua, didto sa Agusan sa El Salvador or Initao o Balingasag naa ang plaka gahulat kanila,” Flores said.
LTO is also replacing older motorcycle plates with seven special digits as these do not comply with the Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act (RA 11235).
“Kung ingon ani ang itsura sa inyong plaka na issue mani within 2014 to 2017 mao ni atong pulihan aside ana kato gyud mga motor nga wala gyuy plaka which is 2017 to 2014 sa ato sa Region 10 naa pud tay na rehistro nga sa year 2020 whole year wala ta naka hatag ug palaka ana ato gihapon hatagan,” LTO-10 New Registration Unit Head, Frandie Tutor, said.
For those who cannot visit LTO offices, the agency will visit the barangays to distribute the license plates.
Motorcycle owners are advised to check the official social media page of LTO-10 for the complete schedule of barangay visits.
