About 100 students from Ilocos Norte National High School experienced dizziness when an earthquake hit Laoag City on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, according to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC).
Some students also suffered panic attacks, fainted, or had trouble breathing during the incident. A few showed signs of high blood pressure and anxiety.
School health workers provided first aid and sent others to nearby hospitals for further care.
Most of the students affected were on the upper floors of school buildings, where the shaking was reportedly more intense.
All students are now in stable condition.
School officials reported cracks in some buildings after the quake, leading to further inspections to ensure safety.
