Several young individuals figured in a brawl outside a convenience store in Panabo City, Davao del Norte allegedly triggered by an unauthorized photo taken by one group, which offended another.

The incident happened on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. It was captured on video and went viral online.

In the video, the altercation began with a heated argument and escalated into a physical fight, with some seen throwing punches and shoving one another.

The fight only stopped after the security guard of the establishment intervened.

Police said both parties were believed to be under the influence of alcohol.

Authorities added that the establishment’s management will no longer pursue legal action, but those involved were asked to pay for the damages amounting to P10,000.

“Both parties yata murag under na sa influence sa liquor mao to nga init na ang ulo, mao to nga ni-ignite samot ang panaglalis ug wala na na-kontrol ang tagsa-tagsa sa init sa ulo. As of the moment, nagka-settle na daw sa kaning dapat nga atubangon versus sa kining complaining party,” Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office Spokesperson, Major Anjanette Tirador, said.

In an interview with GMA Super Radyo Davao, Panabo City Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Lt. Col. Dexter Cuevas, said five of those involved are residents of Davao City who allegedly traveled to Panabo City to drink alcohol as Davao City is currently implementing a liquor ban.

Investigators are still looking into why the group took photos and videos without the consent of the other group.

Because of the incident, several of those involved sustained injuries.

The barangay is facilitating the settlement between the parties involved.

Authorities urged parents to monitor their children, especially late at night, and to be aware of their whereabouts and company to prevent similar incidents.
