A 49-year-old backhoe operator died after he was crushed by a dump truck in Barangay Aurora, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya, around 10 a.m. on July 16, 2025.
Police said the victim was underneath the truck, changing its oil, when the accident happened.
The dump bed, or open cargo box of the truck, had been raised and tied to the backhoe’s bucket using a rope.
However, the rope loosened reportedly and snapped, causing the dump bed to fall on the victim.
He was declared dead on the spot due to severe injuries.
The victim’s family has not yet released a statement.
