A massive fire broke out at a gadget store in Cagayan de Oro City evening on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.

According to some witnesses, the fire started on the second floor of the building.

In a video captured by a netizen, three female employees were seen trapped on the third floor, asking for help.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the three were rescued safely.

Three vehicles parked by the road were also damaged.

“Sa second floor naay mga appliance gamay dayon daghan mga tarpaulins nakita raw materials para sa printing,” BFP CDO District Fire Marshal, SSupt. Excaliburn Salvaña, said.

BFP added that the cost of damage was estimated at P22 million.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, but investigators suspect an electrical short circuit may have triggered the fire.

“Murag ignition ang source ani electrical ignition 3rd alarm siya,” Salvaña added.
