Over 2,000 individuals, or at least 600 families, in the Province of Negros Occidental were evacuated due to flooding caused by torrential rains that the southwest monsoon (Habagat) dumped, and enhanced by Tropical Storm Crising.

According to the Negros Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), the flooding has affected eight local government units (LGUs).

“Mayroon pa ring moderate to heavy rains. Ang forecast ni PAGASA sa atin until this July 18, [2025], makararanas tayo ng 100 to 200 mm ng accumulated rains hanggang bukas,” Bryll Larry Sañor, deputy chief of the Negros Occidental PDRRMO Operations Center.

Residents of Barangay 5, Isabela town had to take a truck to be able to cross a throughfare morning on July 18, 2025, as the road was rendered impassable to light vehicles because of rising water level.

The situation has been the same in the vicinity of a bridge in Barangay San Vicente, Municipality of Binalbagan.

In addition, houses were inundated near Ilog-Hilabangan River in Barangay Camugao, Kabankalan City, as river water spilled to the nearby settlement.

The LGU facilitated a rescue operation to evacuate affected residents.

As rains persist, residents near Bago River in Bago City are actively on watch.

“Indi mo malalaman ang panahon kasi patuloy ang pag-ulan. Siguro aapaw talaga,” Rogelio Magbanua, a resident, said.

“Nakaalerto kami na baka tumaas ang tubig. Kasi noon hanggang bewang ang tubig,” Salvacion dela Torre, another resident, said.

Moreover, residents in coastal areas of Barangay Banago, Bacolod City expressed worry over strong winds and huge waves.

“Hindi kami makatulog kasi ang lakas ng hangin. Mag-ingat talaga kasi hindi mo malalaman,” said Mary rose, a resident.

"Ang bubong, parang liliparin na. Nagbabantay kami kung ano ang mangyayari,” according to Rudy Ann de la Rosa, another resident.

The adverse weather condition has stopped fishermen from venturing out at sea.

"Mahirap kasi malaki ang alon. Malakas ang hangin. Tiis-tiis muna kasi wala tayong magagawa,” said  Silva, a fisherman.
