A 27-year-old rider died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a dump truck in Tagum City.
According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, police said the motorcycle and the truck were traveling in the same direction from the city proper to Asuncion.
Upon reaching Purok Magtalisay in Barangay Mankilam, the rider allegedly tried to overtake the truck, but it crashed into the rear portion of the truck and got stuck underneath the vehicle.
Because of the impact, the rider, a resident of Maco, Davao de Oro, died on the spot.
The 45-year-old truck driver was taken into police custody. He did not issue a statement.
