At least 28 barangays in Iloilo City have been affected by flooding due to the enhanced southwest monsoon (Habagat), based on data from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).

A total of 516 families, or 1,352 individuals, sought temporary shelter at 13 evacuation centers.

At least 18 houses were reported destroyed by strong winds.

“One ang totally (damaged house) at 17 partial. Continuous ang ating pag-manage ng evacuation centers at pag-provide ng kailangan nila,” Darwin Papa, head of operations of the Iloilo City DRRMO, said.

Residents were seen wading in floodwaters near Dungon Creek in Calubihan, Jaro District.

"Tinitingnan namin kung tataas ang baha, mag-evacuate kami. Pero sinesegurado muna namin na nasa itaas ang mga gamit,” said Linda Hibionada, a barangay tanod of Calubihan.

Other families had to be moved via preemptive evacuation.

At least 28 families, or over 100 individuals, have been affected by floods and strong waves in Molo District.

"Pansamantala silang nananatili sa Baluarte Elementary School.

“Puro light materials diyan at coastal area. Kapag may alon at malakas ang hangin, paghandaan na natin,” Barangay Councilman Joseph Gevero of San Juan, Molo District said.

An evacuee, Elma Puasan, said that strong waves destroyed her house.

“Ang bahay namin, nasira. Ang aming haligi, naputol at ang brace, naanod dahil sa impact ng alon,” Puasan said.

"Halos lahat sila sa coastal areas. Ang bahay nila, kahit na lumipat pa sa gym, umaabot pa rin ang alon doon," Elizabeth Alcoran, a social worker in Molo District, pointed out.

Rising water level in Tagbak, Jaro District pestered motorists. Floodwaters spilled from a river.

“Mag-deliver sana ng mga bakal. Pero baka hindi kaya, baka maging alanganin,” Eric Dudece, a driver, said.

As for alias “Boy,” a resident, he said that it takes time for water to subside. “Matagal na mag-subside ang tubig kasi dahil sa Lanit, Jaro nanggagaling,” alias “Boy” said.

In the Municipality of Leganes, Province of Iloilo, flooding caused heavy traffic.

Floodwaters reached Leganes Central Elementary School. Face-to-face classes in Leganes were cancelled from preschool to senior high school.

In Western Visayas, 450 schools suspended in-person clasess on July 21, 2025.

As of this writing, state weather bureau PAGASA has monitored the Low Pressure Area (LPA) in the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

“Kagaya ng Tropical Depression [Storm] Crising, kung mag-develop ito into tropical depression, posible na mag-enhance naman ito,” Charlie Depra, PAGASA-Iloilo weather observer, said.
