An alleged female member of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered to the military while carrying her 21-day-old baby in Sultan Kudarat.

According to the 6th Infantry Division (6ID), the 22-year-old woman identifed as alias “Haydie” was allegedly a member of the NPA’s Squad 1, Platoon 2, SRC Daguman, FSMR.

The woman reportedly told authorities that exhaustion from continuous military operations and her responsibilities as a mother forced her to surrender.

Haydie and her baby were brought to the hospital for medical assessment and care.

603rd Infantry Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Michael Santos said the surrender reflects the effectiveness of military operations.

Gumiran urged other members of the NPA to abandon the armed struggle and embrace a new life.

Meanwhile, Haydie’s companion identified by the military as alias “Golyat,” 60, was arrested in an operation. He was said to be the vice team leader of their unit.

Golyat has an existing warrant of arrest for alleged violation of the Anti-Terrorism Act (RA 11479) issued by a court in Iligan City.

He is also facing murder charges in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.

The military said Golyat was allegedly involved in a firefight with government troops on June 19, 2025 in Barangay Datu Ito Andong, Kalamansig.

Because of his charges and involvement in various incidents, he was tagged as number four most wanted person in SOCCSKSARGEN.
