Tropical Depression #DantePH is now moving northwestward over the Philippine Sea and is enhancing the Southwest Monsoon, or habagat, according to the latest advisory from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
It is enhancing the Southwest Monsoon, or habagat.
As of 4 p.m. on July 22, 2025, the center of Tropical Depression #DantePH was located approximately 1,115 km East Northeast of Central Luzon or 1,130 km East of Northern Luzon (18.3°N, 132.4°E).
It is moving North Northwestward at a speed of 20 km/h.
#DantePH currently has a maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and central pressure of 1000 hPa.
It may strengthen into a tropical storm by Wednesday, July 23, 2025, and is forecast to move toward the Ryukyu Islands and the East China Sea. It may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Thursday or Friday.
No Wind Signal is currently in effect.
SEA CONDITIONS AND STORM SURGE
No storm surge threat is expected from #DantePH. However, enhanced monsoon conditions will bring risky sea travel in several coastal areas:
Rough seas (up to 3.0 m):
- Seaboards of Batanes and Kalayaan Islands
- Western seaboards of Zambales, Bataan, Lubang Island, Occidental Mindoro, and Calamian Islands
Moderate seas (up to 2.5 m):
- Seaboards of Babuyan Island and Ilocos Region
- Southern seaboard of Bataan
- Western seaboards of Cavite, Batangas, and Palawan
Moderate seas (up to 2.0 m):
- Seaboards of Camarines Norte, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon
- Northern and eastern seaboards of Catanduanes and Northern Samar
- Eastern seaboards of Albay, Sorsogon, and Davao Oriental
- Western seaboard of Masbate
- Southern seaboard of Quezon
- Remaining seaboards of Batangas and Occidental Mindoro
- Northern seaboard of Camarines Sur
Motorbancas and similarly-sized vessels are advised to take precaution or avoid going out to sea under these conditions, especially if ill-equipped or operated by inexperienced crews.

The enhanced Southwest Monsoon will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas, especially in coastal and mountainous zones:
- Today (July 22): Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Visayas, and Dinagat Islands
- Tomorrow (July 23): Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Visayas, Zamboanga del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Camiguin, and Dinagat Islands
- Friday (July 25): Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Visayas, Zamboanga del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Camiguin, and Dinagat Islands
