Relief efforts are in full swing across the Cordillera Administrative Region as government agencies continue to deliver assistance to residents affected by recent rains brought by Severe Tropical Storm #CrisingPH and the southwest monsoon.

In Abra, the provincial government, together with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), distributed food packs to residents in several towns. Similar efforts were carried out in Kabugao, Apayao.

In Sagada, Mountain Province, residents received roofing materials, while in Itogon, Benguet, tents were distributed to those living in areas hit by landslides.

“’Yung ayuda tuloy-tuloy na ibinigay ng DSWD dito sa Cordillera,” Frankie Cortez, Chief of the Operations Section at the Office of Civil Defense - Cordillera (OCD-CAR), said.

In Bontoc, Mountain Province, local authorities reported a case of soil erosion at Dalican National High School. The landslide measured about 230 meters wide and 300 meters deep.

Cortez said the local disaster office has already informed the Department of Education about the situation.

“’Yung high school na binabantayan doon sa Mountain Province, sa ngayon wala pa namang damage doon mismo sa school,” he added.
