Parts of Calasiao, Pangasinan were flooded on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, forcing residents in at least 17 barangays to evacuate as the Marusay River overflowed due to continuous rains.

In Barangay Lasip, water nearly reached the roof of a local eatery, while hundreds of homes were inundated.

Residents resorted to using makeshift rafts and boats to move around. Early morning on July 22, 2025, authorities rescued several people.

“Compared [to] last year, talagang mataas ang tubig ngayon,” Barangay Councilman Mercy Ferrer said.

For Shiela Denieva, a resident, the flood arrived without warning.

“Biglaan ang pagbaha. Kanina, gumising ako, wala pa namang baha. Tapos ilang oras lang, nandi’yan na ‘yung tubig,” she said.

Waist-deep floodwaters have forced her to relocate temporarily to her child’s home.

The Calasiao Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) confirmed that the Marusay River had overflowed, and 17 barangays affected as of July 22, 2025.

Some residents are now in evacuation centers as local authorities continue to patrol the area to assess the situation and assist those in need.
