The dead body of a four-year-old boy was found floating in the waters of La-a Island in Simunul, Tawi-Tawi.
Fishermen found the body, which was already in a state of decomposition, and brought it to shore.
According to the Coast Guard Station Central Tawi-Tawi, the boy’s family identified the boy positively. They are from Bongao town.
Authorities said the family confirmed the boy had been missing for several days, but the family did not disclose how the boy ended up in the sea.
“Dala na rin siguro ng sama ng panahon kaya umabot doon ang bangkay. As per family, the kid was missing days before,” Coast Guard Station Central Tawi-Tawi Commander, LTJG Vasil Venturillo, said.
The remains have been turned over to the boy’s family.
