A 27-year-old fisherman was rescued after being stranded at sea for three days aboard his banca off the coast of Zamboanga del Sur.
The fisherman, a resident of Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat was rescued by his fellow fisherman and turned over to the personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Pagadian City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).
He was given first aid and brought to the hospital for treatment, as he was weak and dehydrated.
CDRRMO said the fisherman had delivered fish to Balabagan, Lanao del Sur and was heading back to their mother boat when his banca reportedly ran out of gasoline and he lost control of the boat.
Authorities coordinated with the fisherman’s family so he could return home.
