A barangay chairman was shot dead while his son was rushed to the hospital after gunmen attacked them outside their home in Barangay Banitan, Guimba, Nueva Ecija.
Police identified the victim as Cenon Pineda. His son, whose name was not revealed, is being treated at a hospital in Cabanatuan City for gunshot wounds.
Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the shooting.
A manhunt is ongoing to catch the suspects, who remain unidentified as of this writing.
