Two individuals were arrested separately for carting away items at department stores in Barangay Mambaling and Barangay Tisa, Cebu City. 

The suspects did not stop reportedly at the cashier’s station after picking up personal goods and grocery items, separately, on July 27, 2025. 

Alias “Edsan,” 28 years old, a resident of Barangay Guadalupe in Cebu City, was apprehended by a security guard of a mall on South Road Properties in Barangay Mambaling for taking allegedly a pair of shoes worth PP4,796 and pair of slippers worth P1,499. 

The security guard observed that the suspect took the items, placed these in a paper bag, and walked casually out of the department store without stopping by at the cashier’s booth.

Meanwhile, alias “Eve,” 35 years old, a resident of Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City was also apprehended by a security guard of a mall in Barangay Tisa. 

The suspect took 48 packs of a popular orange powder juice drink worth a total of P921.60; 72 packs of other flavors of the processed juice drink worth P1,382.40; and 10 pieces roll-on liniment product worth P1,620. 

The suspect hid reportedly the items around her waist with a wrap-around cloth, and skipped payment at the cashier’s area.
