A 17-year-old boy who had been missing for two days after saving his two friends from drowning was found dead in Davao City.

Authorities said the boy went missing on July 26, 2025, after he rescued his friends from drowning while they were swimming at a beach resort in Barangay Dumoy.

Unfortunately, the boy was unable to make it back to shore.

After two days of search, his body was found floating near the Toril Fishport in the coastal waters of Barangay Daliao afternoon on Monday, July 28.

GMA Regional TV One Mindanao is reaching out to the boy’s family for a statement, as of this writing.

SEPARATE INCIDENT

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old boy drowned while swimming at a beach resort in Barangay Dumoy, Davao City on Sunday, July 27, 2025.

According to police, the mother said they were swimming together when she suddenly lost sight of her son.

Later, the boy was found unconscious near a rock along the shore.

Rescuers tried to revive the boy before rushing him to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
