A 53-year-old farmer was arrested after authorities discovered marijuana plants on his farm lot in Barangay San Jose, General Santos City.

Police uprooted at least 50 fully grown marijuana plants, each reportedly worth around P200.

During the operation, authorities also confiscated a caliber .38 firearm, ammunition, sachets of suspected dried marijuana, and a sack filled with dried marijuana plants.

The suspect was taken into police custody and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165) and Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (RA 10591).
