Voter registration for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) starts on Friday, August 1, 2025, in Iloilo City.

Lawrence Gahap, 16 years old, is excited to exercise his right to vote and take part in contributing to meaningful changes in his barangay.

Ian Francis Alarcon, another city resident, said the right to choose good, honest leaders inspires him to seek registration. Despite his hectic schedule in school, he said he will spend time for the registration.

“Upang mapakinabangan naman tayo sa barangay natin,” Alarcon said.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Iloilo City announced that from August 1 to 10, 2025, the voter registration will be carried out in different malls in the city.

On August 1 to 2, 2025, registration will be done in a mall at a business park in Mandurriao District, a mall in Jaro District on August 3 to 4, a mall along Diversion Road from August 5 to 6, and another mall in the city proper from August 7 to 10, 2025.

Pinky Tentativa, election officer of the Iloilo City COMELEC, said.

Aside from registration, correction of data, reactivation, and updating of records will also be entertained. However, transfer of voter registration is not allowed.

If there are no impediments to the holding of the BSKE, filing of the Certificate of Candidacy (COC) is set from October 1 to 7. The campaign period is scheduled from November 20 to 29, while Election Day is set on December 1, 2025.
