The Land Transportation Office (LTO) 7 has issued a show cause order to the modernized public utility jeepney (PUJ) driver caught on video committing a serious infraction. 

The driver of a PUJ from Consolacion town was caught on video traversing the gutter along a national highway in Mandaue City, Cebu to get past a trailer truck.

LTO 7 Regional Director Glen Galario confirmed that a show cause order was already issued to the driver. 

The act of the driver was described by authorities to be highly risky and a serious violation to traffic rules and regulations. 

Earlier, the driver was summoned by the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM). He went emotional as he cited he got irate at the truck driver for allegedly brushing against the PUJ. He apologized for his wrongdoing, but even then, he was issued a citation. 

The show cause order allows the driver to explain formally his side regarding the incident.

“Daghan ko og show cause order, daghan man ang nagpabadlong gud karong semana, ubay-ubay, kanang mga nag-viral ba. Kadto siya gipadad-an na nato’g suwat, apil na to. In a few weeks, kinahanglan silang motubag,” Galario said.
