Two young men died after a jeep hit the motorcycle they were riding in Barangay Roxas in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya early morning on July 30, 2025.

The victims, 18 and 21 years old, were residents of Binugawan, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya.

According to the Solano Police, both vehicles were heading south when the jeep allegedly tried to overtake and hit the motorcycle accidentally.

The victims sustained serious injuries and were declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

The jeepney driver fled the scene after the crash. But according to Solano Police Chief PMaj. Michael Gobway, the 60-year-old driver and his helper later surrendered to authorities at the PNP station in Hingyon, Ifugao.

They were turned over to the Solano Police.

“’Yung kwento [ng driver], kaya iniwan noong magkaroon ng banggaan, natakot daw siya. Kasi baka kuyugin daw sila, kaya tumakbo sila. Di nila napansin na may CCTV dun sa area. Nalaman namin kung sino ‘yung nagmamay-ari ng sasakyan. ‘Yung na-file na kaso sa kanila [ay] reckless imprudence resulting to double homicide,” Gobway said.

As of this writing, the victims' families have yet to release a statement.
