The number of dengue cases in SOCCSKSARGEN has dropped by 40 percent in the first seven months of 2025.

Data from the Department of Health-SOCCSKSARGEN (DOH-12) showed that from January 1 to July 12, the region has recorded 7,128 dengue cases, lower than the 11, 883 cases recorded in the same period in 2024.

Even with the decrease in cases, DOH-12 continues to urge the public to fight dengue by eliminating breeding sites of dengue-carrying mosquitoes.

In addition to the national 4S strategy – search and destroy, secure self-protection, seek early consultation, and support fogging operation – DOH-12 made a simpler campaign known as the 4Ts: Taob (turn container updside down), Taktak (empty water containers), Tuyo (kee[ surroundings dry), and Takip (cover containers).

Fogging operations are not generally recommended.

“Yung fogging hindi siya ina-advocate sa community kasi hindi siya agad pwedeng gawin ng ganun ka simple tulad ng taub, taktak, tuyo, takip. When it comes to fogging by request po yan. Kailangan po yan ng budget kasi mahal,” DOH-12 Health Education Promotion Officer II, Lea Reformado, said.
