The mayor of the Municipality of Dumanjug, south Cebu has dangled P300,000 in reward money for individuals who can provide accurate information on the whereabouts of an ex-convict responsible allegedly for several crimes in the town.

Dumanjug Mayor Efren Guntrano Gica announced he will give a reward in exchange for reliable information on an ex-convict responsible purportedly for sale of illegal drugs, theft, robbery, and killing in Dumanjug.

Gica posted in his official social media page on August 3, 2025 about a former inmate of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) released in 2024.

The mayor called on the suspect, and his cohort, to appear at his office, or at the Dumanjug Police Station.

In his post, Gica attached a video of women and men reportedly using illegal drugs in a session.

The suspects have been pinpointed as alleged perpetrators in selling illegal drugs in Dumanjug. The mayor pointed out that the group, led by the ex-convict, is allegedly behind incidents of theft, robbery, murder, and distribution of illegal drugs in Dumanjug; one incident of which is the shooting to death of the secretary of Barangay Tubod-Duguan last June 27, 2025.

Gica gave the group until Saturday, August 9, 2025 to appear before his office, or at the municipal police station. Beyond that, Gica said, he will activate the P300,000 reward on information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

“Paggawas niya, padayon kini, gani mas nidaghan ug nidaku ang network sa illegal drugs. Akong gipungtan pag-ayo, is kining krimen, nangamatay sa Dumanjug, ang usa gipatay unya gisunog ang balay,” Gica stressed.
