Three people died in separate road accidents in Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro City.

In Talakag, Bukidnon, a truck driver and his helper died while another helper survived after the truck they were riding figured in an accident in Barangay Tikalaan.

Based on investigation, the truck was heading to Población, Talakag from Davao City when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle while traveling downhill.

The truck crashed into the road and bamboo.

Because of the impact, one of the helpers was thrown off while the driver was pinned. Both of them died.

“Chemical ang dala ng truck nila, pababa sila, mabilis ang takbo nila itong driver nag-attempt siya to shift to low gear. Unfortunately, wala nagpasok tung gear nila until such time tuloy-tuloy sila pababa,” Bukidnon Police Provincial Office Spokesperson, Major Jayvee Babaan, said.

On the other hand, the other helper managed to jump off the truck before the crash.

“Disiplina lang sa pag-drive and then presence of mind kung sa highway di ta kabisado might as well na dahan-dahan lang ang pagpapatakbo,” Babaan added.

Meanwhile, a rider died after the motorcycle he was riding and a taxi collided in Barangay Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.

According to the Traffic Unit of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), the speeding motorcycle was traveling westbound when it collided with the taxi that allegedly made a left turn from the opposite lane.

Because of the impact, the rider was thrown off the motorcycle and did not reach the hospital alive.

The taxi driver may face charges.
