Authorities have sounded the alarm bells over the increasing number of road accidents in Davao City.

The Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) logged more than 2,500 vehicular accidents from January to July 2025. This is 30 percent higher compared to the number of road accidents recorded in the same period in 2024.

Of this number, 4,864 vehicles involved in collisions were private vehicles, motorcycles, and trucks.

Most of the accidents reportedly occurred on Carlos P. Garcia Highway, Mc. Arthur, Cabantian, Panacan, and Maa.

TEU chief, Lt. Col. Antonio Garcia, said most of the accidents were caused by human error or driver negligence.

Authorities reminded motorists anew to drive carefully and responsibly to avoid causing or becoming victims of road accidents.
