At least 11 passengers and the driver of a multicab-for-hire in Lapu-Lapu City were injured in a road mishap.
The multicab tried reportedly to steer clear from a private car that swerved suddenly.
In a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, the two vehicles were seen plying from Barangay Pusok toward Barangay Mactan. However, the car suddenly swerved to the right.The multicab was seen heading for the gutter and tipping over.
Four of the wounded passengers are children, ages two years old to nine years old, while another is a senior citizen.
According to the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO), the driver and his passengers sustained minor injuries.
The senior citizen went through an X-ray examination, as it was believed that the person sustained a fracture.
Police Lt. Col. Christian Torres, LLCPO spokesperson, said that the car driver pointed out he swerved suddenly to the right toward the multicab as he tried to avoid a motorcycle.
GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak tried to get a comment from the car driver, but he was not already around at the custodial facility.
It was learned that he is released temporarily after a settlement with the victims.
