An 18-year-old girl fell from a moving Ferris wheel at a carnival in Lal-lo, Cagayan on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

According to witnesses, the teenager rode the Ferris wheel with a 12-year-old companion. As the wheel turned and lifted the victim’s gondola up, the girl allegedly leaned out of her seat and that was when she fell at a height of about 10 feet.

She sustained a broken bone in her chest and is currently recovering in the hospital.

“Sa huling impormasyon na nakalap natin sa kaniyang mismong magulang, stable na po ‘yung bata, ‘yung biktima. Palagi po silang mag-ingat, kasi ang sakuna hindi natin inaasahan,” PLT Gerardo Conde, Deputy Chief of Police of Lal-lo Police Station, said.

Police aid the girl might have felt dizzy when she leaned out.

The incident caused panic among visitors at the carnival, as seen in a video showing a crowd gathering near the ride shortly after the fall.

The Lal-lo local government has released a statement and is now coordinating with the Ferris wheel operator for proper action.

"Humihiling ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Lal-lo at ang pamilya ng biktima na iwasan ang pagpapakalat ng maling impormasyon tungkol sa pangyayari," their statement added.

The operator has also spoken with the victim’s family.
