A policeman was arrested for allegedly robbing a convenience store in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Based on investigation, the suspect was seen on CCTV walking around the store. After a few minutes, he entered and picked some items.
The suspect, who allegedly introduced himself as a police officer, pointed a gun at the cashier and declared a holdup. He allegedly took away around P12,000 in cash.
After the store owner reported the incident, police operatives launched a hot pursuit and arrested the suspect at his house.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect is a police corporal assigned at the Libona Police Station. He was also part of the augmentation force assigned to the Malaybalay City Police Station as member of the Motorized Anti-Street Crime Operatives.
Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) said the policeman will face both criminal and administrative charges.
“We want to assure the public that PRO10 does not tolerate any wrongdoing by our personnel. We will make sure that he is held accountable for his actions.,” PRO-10 Spokesperson, Major Joann Navarro, said.
“This behavior is unacceptable and does not represent the values of the PNP. We remain committed to cleaning our ranks and keeping the public’s trust,” Navarro added.
