Three people died while two others were injured after a trailer truck carrying a road roller fell into a ravine in Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur.
Based on investigation, the truck was heading to Bayog town from Labangan when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle upon reaching Barangay Maragang until it plunged into the ravine around 10 meters deep.
The driver identified as Jonel Gumapac and his two helpers, Nonie Mandaz and Tata Nilmida, died after they were pinned inside the truck.
Two other passengers sustained injuries.
Due to the severity of the crash and the victims being pinned heavily, the rescue operation lasted until nighttime.
The company that owns the truck has assured to shoulder the funeral expenses of those who died, as well expenses for the medical treatment of those injured.
