A police officer in Davao City has tested positive for illegal drug use.
According to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), up to 692 police personnel underwent the unannounced drug test on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Results showed that one police non-commissioned officer (PNCO) tested positive during the urine screening. The result will be subjected to confirmatory test.
Authorities did not disclose which unit the officer is assigned to, pending investigation.
The drug test was conducted as part of the police’s internal cleansing efforts in preparation for the deployment of personnel for the Kadayawan Festival 2025.
“The Kadayawan Festival is a celebration of culture and unity. It is our duty to ensure that the peacekeepers of this city are beyond reproach,” DCPO Director, Col. Mannan Muarip, said.
