Two brothers-in-law were hacked to death by their drinking companion in Naawan, Misamis Oriental.

The victims, 67 and 52 years old, were found lifeless by their neighbors in Barangay Linangkayan.

Based on investigation, the victims and the 48-year-old suspect were drinking together when a heated argument broke out.

“Niabot sa punto nga nagpinasakitay sila tungod kay panimalay to ni victim 1… iya man ni brother-in-law, iyang gitabangan si victim 2… iyang gitigbas si suspek nga naigo bahin sa iyang ulo,” Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) Spokesperson, Major Joann Navarro, said.

The suspect, who was hacked first during the altercation, went home and got two bolos. He then returned and attacked the victims.

The victims died on the spot while the suspect was brought to the hospital.

“Based on the investigation wala gyud silay mga away in the past siguro nakita sa atong mga imbestigador nga plainly tungod sa kahubog maong nahitabo ang maong insidente,” Navarro said.

The suspect is now safe, as of this writing. He may face murder charges.
