More than 19,000 members of the Davao City Safety and Security Cluster have been deployed to ensure the peaceful and safe conduct of activities for the month-long celebration of the Kadayawan Festival in August 2025.
During the send-off ceremony for agencies under the Safety and Security Cluster, Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) Chief, Angel Sumagaysay reminded the public to practice vigilance and cooperation.
“Let us continue to adopt or embrace the culture of security. Kapag kay nakita, magsalita kay we will not allow nga naay mahitabo sa Davao City,” Sumagaysay said.
Authorities emphasized the importance of coordination among all agencies, including the various departments of the local government, to fulfill their mandates during the festival activities.
“The mission is clear. The top priority is public safety and security with zero incidence. We are deploying not just personnel but vigilance, professionalism and integrity,” Davao City Police Office Acting Director, Col. Mannan Muarip, said.
The public is reminded of the prohibited items during all Kadayawan events, including deadly weapons such as firearms and knives, umbrellas, alcoholic beverages, backpacks, jackets or hoodies, lighters, unauthorized wearing of Safety and Security Cluster uniforms, non-transpert water containers, toy guns, and laser lights.
