Authorities have been searching for Police Patrolman Aaron Blas of Luna, Apayao, who has been missing for almost a month after disappearing during a training exercise in Barangay Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet.

Blas went missing on July 14, 2025, while taking part in a Basic Internal Security Operation Course.

According to Police Colonel Clarence Gomeyac, Officer-in-Charge of the Regional Special Training Unit–Cordillera, Blas joined a land navigation activity that morning.

Trainees were released at around 6 a.m. to locate assigned targets. He was last seen by a fellow participant shortly after 11 a.m.

"From six o'clock in the morning, na-release sila para doon sa activity na yun. Mayroon silang gagawin, maghahanap sila ng mga target... unfortunately, from 11, past 11 in the morning, doon siya huling nakita ng isang kasama niya," Gomeyac said.

CCTV footage later showed Blas returning to Zigzag Dam 2 at around 5:30 p.m. on the same day, but he has not been found since.

Authorities continue search operations, but no updates have been released on his whereabouts, as of this writing.
