A mixer truck plunged off a cliff after losing its brakes while traversing the Zigzag Road in Dinalupihan, Bataan.

Four people were injured in the incident, including two customers at a roadside eatery.

Dashcam footage recovered by authorities showed the truck speeding downhill before the driver and his helper jumped out.

The vehicle then crashed into a parked car, plowed through a store and an eatery, and fell into a ravine.

“’Yung driver po at pahinante, sila po ‘yung tumalon na makikita niyo sa CCTV. Tumalon sila sa mixer truck noong nakita nilang hindi na nila kayang kontrolin ang sasakyan,” Catherine Montemayor, Chief of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) in Dinalupihan, said.

Two customers of the eatery were hit by the truck and suffered injuries, while the driver and helper sustained bruises from jumping out of the vehicle.

“Lose control daw po due to brake failure. Dumiretso sa karinderya, may kumakain doon na nasugatan, tapos dumiretso sa bangin ang mixer loader truck,” Montemayor added.

All four injured individuals were rushed to the hospital. The trucking company has reportedly promised to shoulder medical expenses and compensate for damages.
