The Grade 11 student in Balabagan, Lanao del Sur who allegedly shot his teacher dead for giving him a failing grade has turned himself in to authorities.
Based on investigation, the 34-year-old victim was walking toward the gate of Balabagan Trade School on August 4, 2025 when the student shot him using a caliber .45 pistol.
The victim was hit at the back of his head.
Reports said that the student allegedly bore a grudge against the teacher because the latter gave him a failing grade.
After the incident, the suspect allegedly fled to Marogong town and sought refuge with relatives.
He surrendered later to the police with the help of his brother who is a police officer.
The suspect was placed under police custody as investigation continues.
"Nasa Balabagan MPS custodial facility while waiting for the commitment order from the court kasi na-file na yung kasong murder against the suspect,” Basher said.
Meanwhile, policemen have been deployed to secure schools in the town to ensure the safety of both students and teachers.
