A scheduled power interruption is set in parts of Iloilo and Guimaras Provinces on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
The power outage is set from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., according to an advisory of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).
Areas to be affected by the brownout are Iloilo Electric Cooperative (ILECO) I - Leganes Substation, Guimaras Electric Cooperative (GUIMELCO) Jordan and Zaldivar Substations and Guimaras Wind.
NGCP said that the scheduled power interruption is due to "momentary isolation/reconnection of the Santa Barbara - Ingore - Buenavista 69kV Line in order to minimize outage during the transfer of ILECO 1's Cabatuan Substation in preparation for line portion rerouting which was previously postponed last August 9, 2025."
Meanwhile, a power outage set from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. is set to affect ILECO I - Bolong, Cabatuan, San Miguel, Oton, Tigbauan, Guimbal, Miagao, and San Joaquin Substations for correction of transmission line defects along the Santa Barbara - Miagao - San Joaquin 69kV line which was postponed last August 9, 2025.
"Specific affected areas are determined by the Electric Cooperatives (ECs). NGCP will exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled," the advisory added.
