Two robbers on board a motorcycle took approximately P96,000 from drivers in two locations in a day and injured one person.

The robbery incidents were perpetrated in the Municipality of Minglanilla and adjacent Talisay City on August 13, 2025.

The first incident was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera past noontime in a store in Barangay Pakigne, Minglanilla. The three victims, identified to be lending collectors and a parcel delivery rider, lost a total of P12,000 in cash to the robbers.

Aside from cash, two cellphones owned by the lending collectors were also taken.

The second incident took place in an eatery in Barangay San Isidro, Talisay City at about 2 p.m. The suspects stripped a delivery truck driver and his assistant of proceeds worth P80,000. The driver of a delivery truck for edible oil was also robbed of sales worth P4,000.

Meanwhile, the robbers shot a ride-hailing app driver for allegedly resisting. The victim is confirmed to be out of danger.

According to Police Lt. Col. Maila Maramag, chief of the City of Talisay Police Station, the robbers fled after shooting the victim, leaving behind his cellphone and money.

Maramag said she received information that the robbers also pounced upon victims in Mandaue City on the same day.

Maramag pointed out that police response was delayed, as no report reached the police station. She said that they knew of the incidents only through social media.
