President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the distribution of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s (PCSO) ambulances for Eastern Visayas in Ormoc City, Province of Leyte on Monday, August 18, 2025.

A total of 124 ambulances were distributed across various municipalities and cities in Region 8, in the Provinces of Biliran, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Samar, Southern Leyte, and Leyte.

The President was assisted by PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles, in handing over formally hands the symbolic vehicle keys to provincial government officials during the program, led by Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez.

“Each ambulance is equipped with essential medical tools, including a stretcher, oxygen tank, blood pressure monitor, and other supplies for patients,” according to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) in a post.

The President directed the PCSO to provide each of the country’s 149 cities and 1,493 municipalities with at least one ambulance to “ensure timely and efficient emergency transportation services for people requiring immediate medical attention.”
