The PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) has reported that a 19-year-old man was convicted for offering unauthorized dental services online in Zamboanga Sibugay.
ACG cited an order from the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Zamboanga Sibugay dated July 29, 2025, which convicted the fake dentist for violation of the Philippine Dental Act (RA 9484) in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act (RA 10175).
The court sentenced the fake dentist to a minimum of two years and one day and a maximum of three years and one day of imprisonment.
ACG said the fake dentist was arrested on June 18, 2025 through an entrapment operation by the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 9 (RACU 9) after he was found offering dental services online without a license or authority.
“Fake dentists can cause serious risks, including health complications, financial loss, the spread of infections, and long-term damage to your teeth. If you are aware of anyone offering unauthorized dental services, report it immediately to the nearest ACG office for appropriate action," PNP ACG Director, Brigadier General Bernard Yang, said.
Meanwhile, ACG also reported that another alleged fake dentist was arrested in an entrapment operation in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat last week.
The suspect, a 24-year-old woman, was also found to be allegedly offering unauthorized dental services online.
The suspect is facing charges for alleged violation of RA 9484 in relation to RA 10175.
“Unlicensed dental services not only violate the law but also pose serious health risks to the public. The PNP ACG warns against seeking or offering medical procedures online without proper credentials and urges everyone to report such activities to help safeguard public safety," Yang said.
