Visayas PAGASA Regional Services Division issued Thunderstorm Advisory No. 8 at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, on moderate to heavy rainshowers expected over areas in Eastern Visayas Region, and in the Province of Palawan.

Moderate to Heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over #Leyte (Macarthur, Mayorga, La Paz, City of Baybay, Hindang, Inopacan, Hilongos), #SouthernLeyte (Bontoc, Hinunangan, Saint Bernard, Libagon), #EasternSamar (Guiuan), #Palawan (Narra and Aborlan) within the next one (1) to two (2) hours.

The above conditions are being experienced in #Leyte (Abuyog, Mahaplag, Javier), #SouthernLeyte (Silago, Sogod) and #Palawan (Puerto Princesa City) which may persist within one (1) to two (2) hours and may affect nearby areas.

"All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates," the weather advisory added.
