A Low Pressure Area (labeled LPA 08e) is being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has a "medium" potential of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, based on weather advisory issued by state weather bureau PAGASA at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
"All are advised to monitor updates from DOST-PAGASA [Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration)," the weather advisory also said.
Thunderstorm is more likely to develop over the Visayas Regions, the Province of Palawan, and the Province of Occidental Mindoro within 12 hours, according to a thunderstorm advisory issued by Visayas PAGASA Regional Services Division at 10 a.m. on August 20, 2025.
