A leader of a local group involved in alleged bogus money-making scheme was arrested in Escalante City, Province of Negros Occidental.
Alias “Je-Ar,” 36 years old, the accused leader of a group named Alpha Omega, was arrested by personnel of the Escalante City Police Station.
According to the police, the suspect faces charges for syndicated estafa.
The suspect is accused of collecting money in exchange for bigger returns, or money-making scheme, police said.
It was further found out during the operation in Barangay Mabini that the suspect dug a hole on the ground reportedly for his hiding den.
“After nang pagkahuli sa kanya, na-discover natin itong ginawa nilang taguan sana niya upang in the event na hahanapin siya, mahihirapan ang ating law enforcers. Itong hideout, sa ilalim ito ng isang kubo kung saan siya nanunuluyan. Local leader ng Alpha Omega na grupo,” Lt. Col. Albert Sy, chief of the Escalante City Police Station, disclosed.
