Four people were rescued after the pickup truck they were riding, owned by the Land Transportation Office-Zamboanga (LTO-9), plunged into a swamp by the road in Barangay Gadiangan, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The 27-year-old driver and the three passengers, all employees of LTO-9, were unharmed.

Personnel of the Imelda Municipal Fire Station responded to the area to retrieve the vehicle.

Police said the group was heading to Zamboanga City from Pagadian City when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle while navigating uphill on a curved portion of the road.

“Based sa investigation, napag-alaman na nawalan ng kontrol yung driver dahil parang pataas yung daan tapos medyo paliko. Dumating sila sa part na yon, nahulog yung sasakyan nila sa swampy na area. Wala namang natamong sugat pero yung sasakyan nila is na-damage,” Police Regional Office-Zamboanga (PRO-9) Spokesperson, Major Shellamie Chang, said.
