A live-in couple was killed in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.

The 60-year-old woman was found lifeless inside their shanty in Barangay Astorga while her 58-year-old partner was found dead at a grassy area several meters away from their home.

The woman sustained stab wounds in the hand and body while her partner sustained hack wounds in the forehead and at the back of his head.

“Sa nakita, may mga stab wounds doon sa kamay at sa katawan ng babae. At tsaka ‘yung sa lalaki naman, may hack wound sa forehead at tsaka sa back portion ng kanyang ulo,” Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office Spokesperson, Lt. Col. Crizaldo Gaila, said.

Police said that based on accounts of the woman’s daughter, she went to her parents’ house to bring food. However, she was shocked to find her mother covered in blood, already lifeless.

Because the area is remote, she had to walk about 300 meters before she could ask for help.

“Consent sa family to autopsy para malaman talaga ‘yung mga cause of death nila,” Gaila added.

Police are investigating the incident to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive.
