A 41-year-old security guard in Kadapawan City was shot by his neighbors he was supposed to trade motorcycles with in Barangay Kayaga, Kabacan, North Cotabato.
Police said the agreement to swap motorcycles reportedly ended up in the shooting, prompting the security guard to flee but not until the motorcycle-riding suspects shot him in the leg and back.
He then fell into a ravine and was later rescued by residents in the area.
“Meron siyang kausap na, yung mga suspect is dati niyang kausap and ang usapan nila is mag-swap ng mamanehuing motor ngunit ang nangyari, nahulog sa barilan,” Cotabato Police Provincial Office Spokesperson, Lt. James Warren Caang, said.
The suspects fled toward Carmen, Cotabato.
The victim, a resident of Datu Montawal, Maguindanao del Sur, is now in stable condition and undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Authorities are pursuing the suspects, as of this writing, while investigation continues to determine the motive.
