A contractor was shot by riding-in-tandem perpetrators in the Province of Negros Oriental.

The contractor is reported to be in critical condition after he was shot morning on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in Santa Catalina town.

The 58-year-old contractor was shot while he was on his way to a quarry site in Barangay San Francisco.

According to the Santa Catalina Police, the victim sustained four gunshot wounds.

He was hit on the shoulder, two at the back, and on the thigh. Four slugs of a .45-caliber pistol were recovered from the crime scene, according to Police Captain Edjel Tablate, officer in charge of the Santa Catalina Municipal Police Station.

There already are persons of interest, but Tablate refused to divulge their identities and the motive of the crime while the investigation is going on.
