Authorities confiscated more than P2.3 million worth of double dead meat in an operation in Barangay Sta. Rosa Uno, Marilao, Bulacan.
Police said about 12,500 kilos of meat were seized, while seven people were arrested during the operation.
The incident began when barangay tanods noticed the suspicious transfer of meat from a wing van to a refrigerated truck. When asked for documents, those involved failed to show any.
PLtCol. Jordan Santiago, chief of Marilao Police Station, said barangay officials immediately sought police assistance.
The confiscated meat was turned over to the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) for proper disposal.
Authorities are now preparing charges against the arrested suspects.
