Three people were injured in a collision involving three vehicles, including a tricycle that had just delivered fruits, on the national highway in Polomolok, South Cotabato.

A CCTV footage showed traffic flowing normally past 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, until a wing van hit a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).

The impact pushed the MPV to the opposite lane where it crashed into an oncoming tricycle.

“Pagkabangga sa kanya, paggulong-gulong niya, ang tricycle doon dahan dahan yun nakatama sa kanya,” a resident, Alberto Reponte, said.

Police said the driver of the MPV sustained a head injury while his passengers were unharmed.

The tricycle driver identified as alias “Arnold” also suffered chest injuries while his companion sustained injuries in the leg and arm. The two had just delivered fruits to the town.

All injured individuals were brought to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the wing van driver was taken into police custody and may face charges.

Police said the wing van and the MPV were bound for Koronadal City while the tricycle was heading to General Santos City when the accident happened.

According to an official of Barangay Crossing Palkan, the area is considered accident-prone.

“Sa mga driver, halong gid, hinay hinay lang diri banda sa crossing palkan from boundary sang Tupi, boundary sang sulit kay disgrasyado gid,” Barangay Chairman Camilo Cagande said.
