Police arrested a 50-year-old farmer and a 53-year-old tricycle driver after they were caught with a firearm, grenade, and ammunition in Barangay Aggasian, City of Ilagan, Isabela.

Authorities said police officers were patrolling the area when they noticed a tricycle without lights in the middle of the road. When flagged down, the driver sped off instead of stopping.

After a brief chase, police cornered the suspects and discovered the firearm, grenade, and bullets inside the tricycle’s compartment. The suspects failed to present documents for the seized weapons.

They are now facing charges but have yet to release a statement.

PCpt. Terrence Tomas, spokesperson of the Isabela Police Provincial Office, said police are still verifying the suspects’ background.
