Several areas in Cebu City and the Province of Cebu were flooded due to torrential rains.

Cebu City's downtown area was inundated evening on August 30, 2025.

Based on a video taken by netizen Fred Patricio, a number of motorcycles and vehicles conked out after maneuvering through nearly waist-deep floodwaters along V. Gullas Street, Cebu City.

A few motorists tried to wade through the waters along with their motorcycles, but the others left their motorcycles submerged in floodwaters.

Other drivers allowed stranded persons to get on board their vehicles in crossing the flooded street.

Persons were seen enjoying the rain while on top of vehicles that encountered mechanical defect.

The prominent Colon Street was inundated and resembled a huge swimming pool where children were seen frolicking in floodwaters.

The situation was found to be the same along E. Sabellano Street, Barangay Kinasang-an Pardo in Cebu City’s south district, and portions of the Cebu South Coastal Road in Talisay City, Cebu; parts of the national highway of Minglanilla, City of Naga, San Fernando, and Carcar City.

According to state weather bureau PAGASA in the Visayas, the torrential rains were due to the southwest monsoon (Habagat) and the trough of a Low Presure Area (LPA).
